Chance is resting comfortably. He remains in an induced coma and on a ventilator. He spiked a fever 2 times last night. Pray he has no more fevers and that they find a cause for it and treat it. They probed his lung today and did not find much there, so pray that it is clear. Pray that he will rest well and fully recover in the coming days. Each prayer is greatly appreciated. He responded to me today. He moved several times. They are getting fluid off of him. They saw a small air pocket in one lung, so pray that it goes away. He was alert several times today when the meds wore off. He's fighting against the drugs that are supposed to keep him asleep. He answered many questions and I believe God is moving mountains! Continue to pray for his recovery as he still needs the ventilator and is still in a comatose state.

Several folks flew out to see Chance. We are humbled by their kindness and genuine love for Chance. We are honored that Ole Miss Rebels continue to show their support in loud ways. We are grateful that many of you continue to pray, support and encourage equally as loud. Thank you all very much. Your prayers are being heard and you are our voice when we grow tired. 

Right now, Chance's fluid condition has worsened. We are waiting for a plan from the doctors tomorrow. We don't anticipate removal from the machine anytime soon. ]]>Sun, 20 Jul 2014 22:18:39 GMThttp://www.finsupforchance.com/updates/please-continue-prayers-as-chances-struggles-continueChance struggled yesterday and throughout the evening. At one point he was awake for more than an hour and fought us. He kept mouthing, "Stop!" His struggles continued all night. The doctors restarted support meds for breathing and cardiac function. 

Between struggles for oxygen and comfort, Chance became nauseous and lost the contents of his feeding tube. Unfortunately his sedation had worn offand he was wide awake. He continued to look at Jeff and me for comfort; shedding tears the entire time. 

Chance cannot sustain without the breathing machine at this moment. His brain is triggering too many shallow breaths. He continues with profuse amounts of fluid on his body. At this point, it may be a few days before the tube can be weened. I am supposed to report to work on Tuesday. #Pray for God's guidance. It's extremely complicated and some choices are not as easy to decide. ]]>Sat, 19 Jul 2014 22:16:35 GMThttp://www.finsupforchance.com/updates/july-19th-2014We've seen progress!!! Last night was rough. Chance fought all night and at one point almost raised up. He continues to mouth words and opened his eyes while shedding tears. Right now- there's a lot of fluid on his body. We will it treat aggressively with lasiks to drain it off. Since we've addressed the fluid, Chance is less agitated. 

He is still in a medically induced coma and on a ventilator. #Praise God Chance has started to initiate his own breaths! Unfortunately, all the fluid on the lungs makes his attempts difficult. Still not out of the woods, but stabilizing. We continue to #pray for complete restoration of our sweet boy. We're #hopeful to #kickcancersbutt and return home. 

Pray for sound sleeping, especially for Jeff. He was asleep when Chance grasped for air; thus, waking Jeff. Jeff made eye contact with Chance before he slouched over going into cardiac arrest. #Thankful Jeff was able jump into quick action and get Chance help. Jeff immediately called me and we listened/watched for over 20 minutes while doctors worked fervently to resuscitate Chance. Praise #God for our miracle. #FightWithFaith put both#FinsUp and pray hard!
